About US
Our Objectives
Empowering progress through knowledge
Our main objectives are to cultivate, promote, and develop—within Romania, the European Union, and internationally—the values of science and technical, economic, and social progress, along with national and universal culture. The Foundation aims to contribute to sustainable economic and social development, particularly by advancing clean energy, education, science, efficient and sustainable economic and industrial practices, and by supporting local, European, regional, and global commerce.
At the same time, the Foundation for Knowledge-Based Development seeks to create the necessary conditions and framework for the exchange of ideas, solutions, and scenarios through collaboration and cooperation. It aims to establish meaningful connections between scientists and decision-makers, between public and private organizational entities, and with major multinational companies and corporations. The Foundation’s purpose includes fostering public dialogue and intellectual engagement on a broad range of theoretical and practical issues of national and international importance. These include social, technical-economic, scientific, philosophical, political, corporate governance, educational, and cultural topics—primarily rooted in advanced, borderless knowledge. Equally important is its focus on supporting democratic processes and the rule of law, and on involving communities in generating proposals for shaping a new culture and civilization—both nationally and globally—through knowledge, innovation, and the activation of local, regional, European, and global creative potential.
The Foundation’s goals and objectives are pursued through its internal institutions and through partnerships with relevant entities. These organize, under the framework of the law, activities in economic development, production, commerce, arts, publishing, socio-cultural engagement, science, education, environmental protection, technical management, and innovation-driven knowledge. Activities also include education and training, production and marketing, socio-cultural development, and performance-driven management and marketing—always in alignment with the principles of sustainable development.
The Foundation actively supports the organization of congresses, conferences, symposia, working meetings, and interdisciplinary exchanges of experience. It promotes eco-technologies, sustainable development, and the exploration of new means of energy production and consumption, including alternative and renewable resources. It carries out editorial activities such as publishing treatises, books, monographs, albums, journals, and other publications. It also organizes national and international academic events to support the development of intellectual capital and the dissemination of knowledge through research focused on the future development of society.
In addition, the Foundation maintains a wide array of specialized operational units (industrial production entities, commercial and logistics networks, publishing houses, printing presses, IT and data centers, knowledge centers, consulting firms, research institutes, project development centers, and public-private partnership divisions) that support the achievement of its principal mission: to promote development through knowledge—nationally, across Europe, and globally.
Within the Foundation for Knowledge-Based Development, programs with university-level specializations are established and operate either independently or in partnership with universities in Romania and other countries. These programs range from vocational training and professional certification centers to doctoral programs. The Foundation seeks to promote education, science, culture, and both theoretical and practical professional training, with a particular emphasis on knowledge-based approaches in the broad field of energy.
Furthermore, the Foundation initiates, supports, and organizes research and experimental projects in the fields of information science, education, productivity and economics, industry, commerce, and social systems. It hosts scientific events and debates on key societal issues, including those related to energy supply and security. The Foundation also organizes public debates on the development of civil society, involving specialists and representatives from social organizations and professional associations from Romania and abroad, as well as from governmental and non-governmental bodies, including international institutions. In all these efforts, knowledge is treated as the fundamental resource for development.
